My First Pages, Madison Reading Project’s early literacy program connects families, caregivers and educators in our community with new books and literacy resources that spark a joy of reading.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

We are the local affiliate for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides registered children with one book per month mailed directly to their residence. All children under the age of five who reside in Dane County are eligible to register for this program.

Little Readers

The program works with community partners serving under-resourced families in our community, delivering brand new books and reading materials offered in both Spanish and English. We partner with local organizations and child care programs to provide each participating child with 10 brand new books, literacy activities, and reading tips to share with their families and caregivers.

Baby’s First Pages

We provide a brand new book and resource kits to newborns and their caregivers through a partnership with Dane County hospitals and community organizations.  Each kit includes an age-appropriate book, reading tips, and info that connects families and caregivers with local resources.

Support for Early Childhood Educators

As part of our ongoing efforts to support the amazing educators that build relationships with kids and families and facilitate opportunities to grow literacy skills, we also provide free books to Early Childhood Educators to build diverse classroom and program libraries. For more information or to sign up, check out our books for educators program page.
