Books for Educators Program

Sign up below for our Back to School Shopping Event August 20th-23rd to receive 25 brand new books for your diverse classroom library!

Our Books for Educators program is open for the 2024/2025 school year!  We will be hosting several shopping events for educators throughout the school year including our four day Back to School shopping event at our Book Center August 20th-23rd. 

Important information:

For the August event, teachers must be a 4K-HS public school educator building a diverse classroom library. 

The following schools or educators will be participating in a partnership this year and will not need to complete this form:

Henderson Elementary Classrooms

MMSD 4K School Based Classrooms

One City Elementary Classrooms

Madison Reading Project is dedicated to connecting educators with free books and literacy resources that reflect and support the unique identities of their students. Our Books For Educators Program provides teachers with high quality books to build diverse classroom libraries.

If you are unable to sign up for an appointment, please feel free to add yourself to our waitlist and you will be contacted as appointments open.

Educators who work with students K-12 in Dane County can apply for this program, one time per school year, to receive 25 brand new books for classroom use.
